It is one of the very first serial production diver from Heuer. The automatic version made the cover of Heuers 1979 catalog.

More recently, it has come be known as the "Bo Derek" model, so named because of a photo that Ms. Derek's father sent Jack Heuer of his daughter wearing the watch and the story behind the photo.
